The bloodiest single day in American history occurred on September 17, 1862 at the Battle of Antietam near Sharpsburg, MD. Three thousand six hundred fifty-four men met their demise and over seventeen thousand more were wounded. As fast as men dropped, the undead rose in their place while the fighting occurred all around them. They had no allegiance to the Union or Confederacy. They only cared for flesh.
